Deja Farrant (MA60985949) is a licensed massage therapist who graduated from Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts here in Tacoma. She initially began her studies in Maui where she learned a variety of ancient Hawaiian healing techniques, including Lomilomi. Deja’s interest and passion in healing the human body deepened when her father suffered a major stroke which left him partially paralyzed and unable to care for himself. This experience further motivated her to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training, along with completing her degree in massage therapy. Deja believes that healing begins with the inner self, and the culmination of her training helps her treat each client holistically and with compassionate care.

Mandala Mountain Message Therapy

This month Kaylee Castillo, LMT owner of Mandala Mountain Massage Therapy has joined Uncharted Waters. Kaylee has practiced in Pierce County now for 4 years, and has 8 years of experience in Massage Therapy. In 2010, I attended Everest College’s massage therapy program in Bremerton, WA. I was drawn to the profession by the idea of being able to help people with mobility and better body function. Massage quickly taught me about compassion, about mindfulness, about self care and the importance of touch. In 2012, I attended a certification course for Contemporary Cupping Therapy to further increase the therapeutic affects of the massage I provide. I have a background in fitness instruction which deepens my understanding of the movement of the body.

I spent the first 7 years of my massage career working in a clinical setting under chiropractors. I have experience treating injuries as well as working with clients to achieve relaxation and mobility goals. In early 2018 I began using CHABA (canabis health and beauty aid) products to increase the benefits of my treatments. To find out more about the products and services I provide see the My Services section of my website.

I chose the name of my business by incorporating the mindful symbol of the mandala, which is used across religions and spiritual practices as a symbol of wholeness and the representation of the universe; and the mountains which like the mandala remind us that we are but a small piece of the vast landscape of the earth. I find my peace in the outdoors and I believe this carries over through my name, logo and hands on practice.
