Did you know that over 800 hospitals in the U.S. offer Reiki? Johns Hopkins Medicine offers Reiki and also recommends it as a complimentary medicine to decrease pain, speed up healing, lower stress, and decrease symptoms. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not associated with any religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. Reiki is the life energy that flows through and sustains all things in the universe.
The human being is composed of mind, body, and “spirit”. (“Spritus” is latin for breathing)
All three must be in working order, so that a free flow of energy is achieved and allows our autonomic nervous system to recalibrate for healing. Through my practices, I work as a conduit to tune into (and allow) the universal energy (sometimes with the aid of healing stones) to balance all 3 levels (mind, body, and spirit) and allow us to heal while reconnecting to our own subtle body.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ~Nikola Tesla

Thank you for taking the time to read about energy work! My name is Philip McGraw, I know the term “energy work” can sound a little “out there” but most of us have experienced energy fields and may not have even known it! For example, have you ever been in line at the grocery store and felt someone standing closely behind you or in “your bubble”? This is your energy field or subtle body and some people can feel it stronger than others, but what we normally think of as “our body” extends beyond our skin at the biomagnetic level. Over the last 8 years I’ve been pulled to energy healing through a variety of practices like meditation, floating, pranayama (breath work), mantra and yogic practices. These tools and techniques open the door for understanding that everything is energy and we have more power to heal ourselves (and each other) through this vibratory field than we can imagine. By working with this energy field one can relieve stress and anxiety, expedite healing from surgery or physical ailments. On a more subtle healing level, Reiki can clear energetic/emotional blockages stored in the subtle OR physical body that occur due to trauma, self-esteem, or negative thought loops in which limit our abilities to live a meaningful and joyful life. On a physical level, Reiki healing occurs in the body by activating the parasympathetic response of our autonomic nervous system which is connected to every one of our major organs and signals a multitude of healing benefits including reduction of pain, lowering blood pressure, lowering cortisol levels, and increasing endorphins to name a few.
For maximum benefits, schedule a Reiki session after a float OR massage! If you are feeling burnt out, “stuck”, stressed out, or anxious, please do not hesitate to reach out and see if Reiki can bring a positive shift in your overall health and wellness.

Gratefully, Philip McGraw
